Very cool stuff. Makes me want a GPS device even more (I never thought about making pictures with it! I only want to know where I was walking -- silly me).9/9/2003 9:25:55 PM

The Dialtones piece scared me a bit... interactive ambient music. One of the few performances where almost everyone has the same instrument.9/12/2003 9:41:33 AM

GPS mark-making is a fascinating subject. I wonder what other "unconscious" methods of mark-making could be investigated?9/12/2003 4:03:48 PM

Weird. I didn't see the cell phone bit before. I will have to listen to that later, but that's just amazing. A nice bit of reality too, about how easy it is to harness and combine such technology.9/15/2003 1:04:24 AM

new ideas for ambient music louis?9/16/2003 6:09:30 PM

New ways to apply it, rather. I've wanted to do a piece that involves various beeping devices (although I had never considered cell phones!), and having people interact with the sound and texture by moving with the devices throughout the room. I really like what the people have done. I think moreso, because I have a pretty good idea what is necessar from both an artistic/composition standpoint, as well as from a technical/communications standpoint. Our culture is breeding strange things in the past decade or so.9/16/2003 11:34:05 PM

long-distance music making has a sort of historical resonance to it, like hunting horns calling to eachother.9/18/2003 1:27:01 PM

I like that. I'll keep it in mind next time I hear someone's cell phone ring. =)9/19/2003 8:42:09 PM

Hmmm...how can I twist this conversation into some sort of platform for my political ideas?9/23/2003 4:37:49 AM
